Union Rally: Monday July 21, 2014 at 8:00

Join us on Monday and lets make some noise and turn this job UNION!

There is a rally scheduled on Monday July 21, 2014 at 8:00, at 25 Broadway, Manhattan, across from the Financial Bull downtown.

Tribeca Floors is the target. They are installing wood flooring and sub flooring, paying their top guy $21/hr cash and no benefits and a regular worker gets $15 to $18 dollars/hr no benefits.

The Coordinator is Gerry Matthews, stop bye and show your support and receive your picket duty credit.

    1. Those guys are paid actors, who were provided by Joe Geiger, and were paid in Subway sandwich coupons, given to Joe for free, to endorse their products, hoping Joe would be the next Subway sandwich sponsor, to replace Jarred, who is now skinny......

  5. Why not use the feds against these non-union employers? Under the Obamacare guidelines, any employer hiring people to work more than 30 hours/week must pay into the workers health insurance - with a 3 year look back. Flip this guy into the federal department of labor. If all the jobs go non-union, we'll all be making $14/hour with no benefits. Gotta put the heat back on these people.

  6. This is a massive annoyance to people that work in the surrounding area. I would log a noise complaint with the city but it would do no good. Put your rat up, its ugly and obnoxious but it doesn't really bother me, but blowing the whistles constantly is uncalled for and a distraction for my work day. This sort of behavior doesn't make nonunion people sympathetic to your cause which I don't really understand. People want to work in this economy and if someone is qualified and willing to do the job for less than someone else than they are going to continue to get work

  7. Can you guys try to protest these wages, without annoying the hell out of everyone else who isn't involved? I Feel like I am at the 2010 South Africa world cup

  8. Please stop making so much noise. You are annoying many people in the surrounding offices, which is not bringing any sympathy to your cause.

  9. When you see six guys at a rally you have to ask yourself whats wrong with this picture? I would say that the Union leadership is failed and not credible so nobodys going to show up to support the LIARS in office . Most people dont vote because they think theyre making a statement about not liking the choices offered to them but in reality they are giving their power to the people they dont like. if you think about the organizing plan ask yourself what person working non union wouldn't want to make 80 or 90 dollars an hour? Could it be that the organizers dont believe what their saying cause they know theyre full of SHIT!!!!!! Just think about all the non union jobs where the workers are getting shit pay and we cant organize them by offering them more money? Really think about that.Unfortunatley this Union is going into the shitter rather quickly with full mobility keeping 5000 members unemployed while they try to sign new people. Maybe they shouldnt have FCKED all of those members who would have supported the dc if the dc had believed in them. This is Corporate Unionism it dont work. Corporations and Unions are the antithesis of each other but blow job Doug still says different. A good carpenter abd friend said to me " Liars figure but figures dont lie" Look at the numbers they dont lie. remember when its time to vote forget about Joe Geiger Steve McInnis and Felon Mike Cavanaugh send theses Unity team do nothings home for everyones sake. 10. Just a bunch of uneducated losers blowing whistles. That's the impression I just got when I walked by you again today. It's 2014, the rest of the world knows the value of laborers like you guys and its nothing near what you think you deserve. Move on and maybe go back to school and learn something that can contribute to society.

I would ask that if you would like to leave a comment that you think of Local 157 Blogspot as your online meeting hall and that you wouldn’t say anything on this site that you wouldn’t, say at a union meeting. Constructive criticism is welcome, as we all benefit from such advice. Obnoxious comments are not welcome.
