    1. Mike McCarron was not the only one involved in this. The whole leadership out there needs to go.

  4. Time to downsize and go back to the Local Unions handling their own affairs. Maybe this spells the end of the Regional Council. 60,000 members about to be freed. Now NY must make a stand while the UBC is being blindsided by the Feds.

    1. We thought you were asking a rhetorical question, I mean you are in the NYCDCC, and so should be well aware of the crooks that run this organization. All that is happening is business as usual, another crook got caught and the members have to pay for it.

    2. No one answers because, plain & simple, you are an idiot!!Follow the bouncing ball dummy & stop asking stupid questions. Do some homework for a change; e.g. think, then speak.

    Local East 1553.
This local represents Aerospace workers at companies like Boeing, L2 Communications, Raytheon, Hewlitt Packard and others.
This is a culture I am glad that something is finally being done. Hope it is VALUE ADDED IN THE END.
    Another Example:
They should look at how the force local east 1553 to pay mothly expenses of BA's without any proof that those expenese occured. They have been fraudulently taking money from this local for years. When challenged recently. The local refused to continue paying , requesting detail expense reports , receipts of some kind of accountability. A long battle ensued that ended in intimidation and eventual payment of expenses claimed where all paid and continue to paid.

Mr. Draper you have your hands full, this is a beast of a problem.

    Sincerely, Unrepresented member!

  8. I was a member of Provo,Utah local 1498 up until 2005 when the southwest council came in and took over our locals I thought they were crooks then and got out, one of the hardest things I have had to do in my life. I was a second generation union carpenter and all of my male relatives in any type of trade were union members so I didn't like leaving the union, having to cross picket lines, and losing many long time friends in the process, but I just couldn't affiliate myself with a group that when asked if there would be a vote on whether or not we would go on strike and were were told by the council leaders of the southwest including Mike McCarron that we as members had no vote in the matter and that they were going to require us to go on strike, all because the contractors wanted to keep contributing to the Utah pension fund. I hope the individuals involved with what is going on now get what they deserve.

  12. Attention Doug Banes, UBCJA General Vice Presidente'

Dear Brother Banes...how'z about you undergo some Officer Basic Training. You can start by taking some remedial English classes and once we are apprised of your success or failure in that endeavor we can determine the appropriate grade level to start you on your way to being able to write business letters like and intelligent business executive.

You broke the cardinal rule by injecting oersonalities, ego, emotional rhethoric and false & slanderous accusations which were not properly vetted by the UBCJA International's legal counsel prior to you hitting the print command and having your secretary send this letter out the door.

It's reads classic thug mentality from beginning to end Mr. Banes and it's quite apparent that after you meeting with Douglas J. McCarron on the subjects that you have absolutely no clue how to structure your thoughts and put them into a business letter without run on sentences, form or structure.

Yes sir ree Bob - UBC Officer Basic Training is what the Doctor ordered starting with remedial english classes and some follow on english writing classes.

If you cannot put together a simple business letter in a manner and fashion which does not expose the UBCJA to furhter litigation, you clearly have not earned nor do you deserve that 6-figure yearly salary notwtihstanding the triple dip pension plan and the requisite perks which come with a do-nothing cushy white collar job.

Your an embarassment to the Organization Mr. Banes and you should seriously consider resigning or retiring - the sooner, the better!

I would ask that if you would like to leave a comment that you think of Local 157 Blogspot as your online meeting hall and that you wouldn’t say anything on this site that you wouldn’t, say at a union meeting. Constructive criticism is welcome, as we all benefit from such advice. Obnoxious comments are not welcome.
