Union big: Not guilty, just stoned

MICHAEL FORDE Blames cocaine.
By BRUCE GOLDING

Maybe this crooked carpenter should have been cutting up pieces of lumber instead of lines of cocaine.

Fallen labor leader Michael Forde wants his 11-year prison term tossed due to his illegal drug habit.

In Manhattan federal court papers, the former head of the carpenters union claims his guilty plea to labor racketeering was “not voluntary” because he “was in an anxious and depressed state . . . contributed to by his history of substance abuse.”

“He was not able to fully comprehend the ramifications of his decision,” lawyer Joseph DiBlasi wrote.

But Forde — who tested positive for cocaine and pot after his arrest for racketeering in 2009 — doesn’t blame only the drugs.

He says Judge Victor Marrero should have recused himself from the case because he earlier presided over civil suits involving Forde and the union.

A court spokeswoman said Marrero wouldn’t comment.

  2. Where is the objective evidence vs. Forde's subjective belief's?

Nevertheless, Forde & his Attorneys will have an exemely hard time getting past the Tumey, Murchison & Withrow standards of the Supreme Court.

New Yorks State code of judical std's. exceed the typical ABA model for Due Process cases. He must think he is in Los Angeles and entitled to the Hollywood set's treatment when the warden says, sorry no empty beds & they get off for time served in the Holding Cell and exit stage left for more Narc's Anonymous Drug Rehab.

Mikey - you had your chance to call CAPS & you blew it. Remember when you transferred the Vacation Trust Fund monies October 17, 2006 (all $28,262,180 of it) over to the NYCDCC Welfare Fund. Afterall, they did spend some $3,684,202 on "Behavioral Health Benefits", which include AA, NA, bedwetting, paranoia, psychiatric care and outpatient counseling, amongst a long laundry list of other unfounded mental disorders. Where was your lawyer (excuse me, the DC Lawyers that the rank & file paid for) then?

The line from the Godfather about says it all...."you could be a man" and own up to your crimes and be accountable. But no.....not in this mamby-pamby world of precious snowflakes where no one is responsible or accountable for any of their actions. You want the easy way out...well, you already got it brother....you're in Club Fed instead of a State Pen doing hard time, so quit whining & sniveling and do your time like a Man.

Hey, carpeted cells, porcelain toilets, a law library, weight room, computer access , conjugal visits and a food menu to die for...OK, so you don't get Lobster any longer...it's not good for you anyhow, being a bottomfeeder and all.

remember, NO CRYING IN CLUB FED!

  7. i,t easy to condemb the guilty ,but as a christian we are also told to forgive. This is not always easy. But as a carpenter who worked with mike for 2 years on one job,I KNEW A COMPLETELTY different person. So lets try to forgive and ask the lord to help all others who may be tempted.

  8. Maybe Mike is just totally exhausted from all of that shower room sodomy. He needs to get parole to give his poor battered rectum, not to mention his semen spattered tonsils, a badly needed break.

I would ask that if you would like to leave a comment that you think of Local 157 Blogspot as your online meeting hall and that you wouldn’t say anything on this site that you wouldn’t, say at a union meeting. Constructive criticism is welcome, as we all benefit from such advice. Obnoxious comments are not welcome.
