  4. Their Plan Is To~~~>>> Develop and communicate a message around the benefits of the unionized carpentry workforce, underscoring the quality work performed by the Carpenters' trained, certified and professional labor pool, and underscoring as well the experience and competency of the contractors/construction managers for whom these carpenters work......They Cant Even Fix The Problems That Exist (There Are Currently Millions In UNPAID BENEFITS) ...Owed To The Carpenters Who Are Sent Out To Work For DELINQUENT SIGNATORY CONTRACTORS....Why Not HIRE A PERSON Who Will Tackle This Problem?....Instead Of Creating More Meaningless Jobs!!!

  5. Ever notice how the incompetent who do nothing & produce nothing all day long all of sudden can write a book when it comes to their alleged job duties and requirements to be employed in the club they belong to? Anybody?

The requirements for this make work position within this fictitious corporation are seemingly endless and no one, including the USAO says diddly about it.

Bottom line - it's a P.R. do-nothing hack position designed to promote the staus-quo; or the McCarron & Contractor Association Plan to keep destroying member rights and to promote the Council as a member friendly organization. Funny thing though, the 1% club which is where this position will fall does nothing when it comes to the duty of fair representation for all.

Notice how the RO via the CBA qualifier has zero control over the LMC or who it hires or wht they spend to accomplish exactly nada for the rank & file. Time for him to submit a motion to Berman to change this part of the stip & order as they cannot justify the monies they waste right now w/o hiring more assholes.

  6. Interesting to read no requirement for experience in the union sector or even a union membership?

Who is the illiterate boob who penned this gem - "to help identify opportunities and to quickly inform effective strategies and tactics" Say What? It should read 'to quickly implement' effective strategies & tactics.

This is comical. The NYCDCC has an EST, a President & Vice President and a Director of Operations as well as a Director of Organizing & a Politicial Director all of whom are highly compensated executives charged with every responsibility and task noted here. The Labor Management Corporation seeks to swallow each of these positions and have the non-union personnel it hires take over the operation of the District Council, which would violate the operative provisions of the NLRA as well as the Lechmere Doctrine.

Construction Managers work for Project Owners and Developers, and unless acting as a G.C. or prime assuming the risk & liability, CM's are merely paper pushers who slap cover sheets over the GC's work for RFI's, Submittals and Monthly Pay Applications.

Change must begin from within the D.C. and that starts by hiring competent people verses allowing DC hacks to appoint business agents, rep's & organizers who do not produce definitive results. That bodes equally well for the RO's naming ex cop's, state police and investigators to job duties they have no business assuming given their lack of knowledge & experience within the construction industry.

These facts are the reason why the LMC looks to go outside the provisions of Federal Labor law and take on the responsibilities which current Officers & over paid Executive are not fulfilling, notwithstanding McCarrons agenda to run outside the bounds of every law on the books.

I would ask that if you would like to leave a comment that you think of Local 157 Blogspot as your online meeting hall and that you wouldn’t say anything on this site that you wouldn’t, say at a union meeting. Constructive criticism is welcome, as we all benefit from such advice. Obnoxious comments are not welcome.
