Please give your opinion on whether you agree or disagree with the brothers comments about using the internet to "put the Brotherhood's laundry out in public view."

It's the Obligation you made when you joined the UBC. "I do, of my own free will and accord, solemnly and sincerely promise - on my sacred honor - that I will never reveal by word or deed - any of the business of this United Brotherhood - unless legally authorized to do so."
You have put the Brotherhood's laundry out in public view on the WWW and done a disservice to all of us. I bet the open-shop organizations print that stuff out and chat about it.
Well Mr. Pitt, I'm wondering what you would do? When corruption is all over your livelihood, thievery, lies, drugs, etc. Do you first check all your OBLIGATIONS to a corrupt union? Seems to me, your the kind of man that chooses the victim to question. This is not a time for being worried about what anyone else sees. The disgrace of our union is in news print for all to see. By the way, this has been going on for quite a while now, before this blog was here, and we see that the corruption did not just stop on it's own. I say tough times call for tough meassures to be taken. Instead of questioning the members, let's hear your tactic for stoping the sinking of this union. I worked 30 years and now that I get to collect the fruit of my labor, I want THE BEST we have repairing this situation and steering this union in a proud direction!
ReplyDeletethe pittsburgh brother is right.u can b brought up on charges for this site, but i say f-em.

ReplyDeletesounds like skulls and bones. I doubt the authors of the UBC constitution envision the internet. Anyway brothers, how about holding these rat bastards (international & nyc dc leadership) responsible for stumping all over the UBC Constitution and getting away it. If they ever want to bring on a lawsuit based on this or any other blog, they can brace themselves for a class action suit for being a bunch of corrupt assholes.
Mike Forde was all over the papers and internet reveling "<span style="">the business of this United Brotherhood " for the world to have another excuse to look down at us. Go head, google "nyc union carpenters" and you see FORDE, DRUGS, CORRUPTION, MOB, INDICTMENTS. </span>
GOTTA SAY HE IS RIGHT YOUR AIRING IT ALL OUT AND STILL THERE IS NOTHING BEING DONE.WHAT A SHAME
ReplyDelete<span>All's fair in love and war. Tough times call for tough measures.</span>
ReplyDeletewhy is the disrict counsil of carpenters on 35 hudson website shutdown?
ReplyDeleteYeah, its true, you can be brought up on charges, and you should if the purpose of this site were to directly harm the union or undermine its activities in some way. What we have instead is a blog holding a mirror to an extremely corrupt organization created in an undemocratic fashion by corporatist infiltrators. So I really dont see the NYCDCC as a union organization, more like a union leech, a tick perhaps, draining the resources of its host.
ReplyDeleteThis site would also not be necessary if we had a news letter and magazine that actually printed what was happening, good or bad. But that's a pipe dream, the editor of the Carpenter was appointed, yes appointed, by McCarron. Also the NY mag is created in house, so they are tantamount to propaganda and don't really serve the membership.
Also the NYCDCC has been printing internal doccuments regarding this matter for at least a month.
It really doesnt matter what non union does with this information anyway, they have been making these statements with or without cause since the turn of the last century and often they are right. In reality the US labor movement has been reminiscent of a bowel movement. There are some awful goings on and its because these straight up capitalist corporate appeasers have taken over and want to get way too cozy with contractors. Our membership is apathetic and cynical, and rightfully so, but at some point we have to decide that we are the captains of this sinking ship and instead of clamoring for higher ground like rats, we need to start bailing this bitch out and getting her back on course.
GREAT JOB JOHN KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK . YOU ARE THE TRUE VOICE OF OUR UNION . WHERE ELSE COULD I FIND WHAT IS GOING ON IN NYC. KEEP IT UP !!!
